The Evolution of a Series
Every once in a while, I feel like revisiting a series to see how time has changed the way that I approach an idea.
If you've been around for long enough, you may remember this painting from 2013. In the home of an artist, everyone gets pretty used to the rotating roster of works that hang on the walls but this was the first painting of mine that my husband claimed was off limits! It now hangs in his office, and it makes me so happy that it makes him so happy.
Lucky for you, I've circled back on this series and now have seven available to collect!
In this iteration of the series, I’ve been playing with two approaches: one where I keep the compositions very quiet and soft, exploring the subtleties of color theory in a more restrained palette; and another where I take a deconstructed floral I’ve painted and push it even further into abstraction.
